FREE GIFT
Hey, ya’ll! At the bottom of today’s post, I’m going to let you know about some free stuff I’m giving away to all of you great Man vs. Row subscribers. Now, on to today’s post…
Here’s a writing prompt for you. It’s a simple fill-in-the-blank. You can use one word or several. Feel free to get as crazy, genre-appropriate, or as imaginative as you want. The point is to get the creative juices flowing. And it’s a good thing to dig deeper, so don’t stop at the first idea that hits you. Try coming up with at least five things.
“You left my heart as __________ as ____________.”
I’ll give you an example to get you started:
“You left my heart as empty as a Monday morning church.”
I’d love to hear what you come up with, so please share in the comments. Oh, and please keep your posts below an R-rating. It’s a family show, after all!
SHOUT OUT!
Thanks to Barney Coulter, Debbie, dju316, Jeff Green, Michael and Mikalyn Hay, Mae Young, Debbie Convoy, Janet Goodman, Matt Martoccio, Joseph Lekkas, Dan Retzlaff, Jerry Childers, Willa Thompson and everyone else for your great additions to Wordplay Thursday #46 (read it here)! Great job!
FREE GIFT
As a way to say “thank you” to all of you who subscribe to Man vs. Row by email, I’m going to give away some cool stuff in July (2014). If you subscribe to MvR, I’ll send you a free report, “10 Things The Pro Knows.” I’ll also send you the guitar/vocal of “Crickets,” which is the title track of Joe Nichols’ current album. You’ll get to hear the song as Joe heard it when he decided to record it. You’ll also receive the lyric file of the song- and this lyric file includes “Baxter’s Boneyard” – all the lines that DIDN’T make it into the song (see if you agree with our choices). It’s something nobody else has seen, and I think it’s pretty cool. But, again, this gift is only for those who subscribe to Man vs. Row by E-MAIL. These gifts will be sent by email, so if I don’t have your email address, I can’t send it to you. God Bless!

You left my heart as high….as a King upon his throne ~d
You left my heart as torn as a hobo’s shirt. Tattered, in pieces and filled with constant hurt. I keep hearing you tell me goodbye. As I sit in the dark trying not to cry.
You left my heart as sad as a Sunday.
You left my heart as traveled and wet as a shoreline.
You left my heart as cracked as this bottle that I’m drinkin’ down.
You left my heart shattered as sea glass on the shore
You left my heart shattered as sea glass on the shore
When you told me you didn’t love me anymore
I lay hear praying that the rain
Washes away the memory and the pain
Of watching you walk out that door
You I left my heart as —— as ———.
easy as pie.
broken as shattered glass.
bad as wrong.
cold as ice.
strong as before..
You left my heart as dark as coal. Angry from my years you stole. From age twenty to thirty five. All you’ve done is cheat and lie.
Wasted years because of you
Lost my swagger and my youth
I’ll curse your name until I die
For all the tears you made me cry
The one thing I know is true
I’ve wasted years because of you
Finish it up, Brent.
You left my heart as empty as this bottle of cheap whiskey.
I can get another bottle, I can’t get another you.
You left my heart as barren as a desert highway
You left my heart as open as a chapel door
You left my heart as solemn as a requiem
You left my heart as warm as summer rain
You left my heart as lonely as a stranded castaway’s, my bank account as empty as a rusty coffee can, my heart as tattered as that worn-out towel I trashed, my soul as broken as an arm in a plaster cast, my faith as strong as that of a man who’s seen The Light
You left my heart as giddy as the first time that I met you.
Tell me baby could we try and get to how it used to be?
You left my heart as tattered
As the Star Spangled Banner
Our words like bullets flying
On a lovers’ battlefield
You left my heart as tattered
As the Star Spangled Banner
Our words like bullets splattered
On a lovers’ battlefield.
You left my heart as haunting as memories
You left my heart as fragile as a snowflake
You left my heart as conflicted as wealth and happiness
You left my heart as peaceful as a rainbow after rain
You left my heart as wandering as ships through the Bermuda Triangle
Bonus…
You left my heart as curious as next Thursday’s Wordplay
You left my heart as BLUE as A MONTANA SKY
You left my heart as HAPPY as TWO PEAS IN A POD
You left my heart as LONESOME as THE FOLSOM PRISON BLUES
You left my heart as BROKEN as ALL MY SHATTERED DREAMS
You left my heart as MEMORIES as PHOTOGRAPHS OF YOU
You left my heart as CARELESSLY as I FELL IN LOVE WITH YOU – I think that’s the best one
Geez talk about pressure with using that line 😉
“You left my heart as broken as our old barn”
“You left my heart as black as coal”
“You left my heart as open as wide mouth can”
“You left my heart as empty as this bottle tonight”
“You left my heart as fluttery as a monarch butterfly”
