Here’s a fill-in-the-blank to get you started. Feel free to use it to start off YOUR song.  It could be the first line of your song, or not.  Feel free to change the line up some.  It can be serious or silly.  Whatever gets you going!

“She threw down that _____________.”

I’d love to hear what you come up with, so please share in the comments. Oh, and please keep your posts below an R-rating. It’s a family show, after all!

  1. Not really a whole song yet. These are fun. Thanks!

    My True Love Wasn’t You

She threw down that ivory comb
    And said “I’m going home”
    Shook loose her pretty hair
    And said “It isn’t fair”

She packed up all her things
And said “You keep the rings”
She walked out the front door
And said “Just one thing more”

“I love you and I wish you well my lover
I hope that you and she are happy too
I dream one day of finding my own true love
I know now that my true love wasn’t you”

    She loaded up the car
And said “I won’t be far”
    Got in the driver’s side
    And said “I’m gonna ride”

She looked me up and down
And said, “Don’t you dare frown”
    Her eyes said their goodbye
She said “Now honey don’t you cry”

“I love you and I wish you well my lover
I hope that you and she are happy too
I dream one day of finding my own true love
I know now that my true love wasn’t you”
