Wordplay Thursday #1

Here’s a writing prompt for you.  It’s a simple fill-in-the-blank.  You can use one word or several.  Feel free to get as crazy, genre-appropriate, or as imaginative as you want.  The point is to get the creative juices flowing.  And, as it’s a good thing to dig deeper, don’t stop at the first idea that hits you.  Try coming up with at least five things.

“She treats me like _________________ treats __________________.”

I’ll give you one example to get you started:

“She treats me like a baby treats a diaper.”

I’d love to hear what you come up with, so please share in the comments.  Oh, and please keep your posts below an R-rating.  It’s a family show, after all!

  1. Quick response…(not what you wanted but I’m working 12’s, nighty time)
A Politician—-Money (used with no consideration)
the rain—-a sunny day (rains on my parade)
    tomorrow—today (already gone away)
a river—–a stone (polishes my rough sides)
a spring rain—– the flowers (helps me grow)

Great stuff Brent! Thanks for the help!

    1. Love it, Russ! Quick responses are perfect. The point is to get the juices flowing and to have fun, not to turn it into labor. Thanks!

  2. She treats me like a stiletto treats a dance floor
She treats me like a bullet treats a brain ( blows my mind).
She treats me like aloe treats a sunburn

Fun! Great blog btw…new follower, just moved to Nashville 2 weeks ago. Cheers!

  3. She treats me like a tire treats the roads, and runs all over me.
    Or
She treats me like the sun treats the rose, and fills me with life.
    Or

She treats me like snow treats the ground, so cold ….
Or she treats me like a warm blanket treats a tired soul, and comforts a weary heart.

  4. I figured I would start contributing to WordPlay Thursday from the beginning. Brent I love your website and what you and Johnny are bringing forth to the music industry community. God Bless you both.

Your example: “She treats me like a baby treats a diaper.”
I’ll add by saying, “That’s okay ’cause I can get a little hyper”

“She treats me like _________________ treats __________________.”

She treats me like nobody else treats me
She treats me like a raindrop treats a flower
She treats me like the sun treats a cloudy day
She treats me like a breath of fresh air treats sour
She treats me like good news treats bad news
Yeah I know, she treats me like she treats you

    1. Awesome, Ronnie! Glad to be of service! Hope you get a bunch of fun and creative kickstarts from all the wordplays!
