Wordplay Thursday #6

cropped-music_row_signs322.jpg

Here’s a writing prompt for you.  It’s a simple fill-in-the-blank.  You can use one word or several.  Feel free to get as crazy, genre-appropriate, or as imaginative as you want.  The point is to get the creative juices flowing.  And it’s a good thing to dig deeper, so don’t stop at the first idea that hits you.  Try coming up with at least five things.

“He’s drunker than _____________________.”

I’ll give you one example to get you started:

“He’s drunker than a tequila worm.”

I’d love to hear what you come up with, so please share in the comments.  Oh, and please keep your posts below an R-rating.  It’s a family show, after all!

SHOUT OUT!

Thanks to George, Nila, Steve, August, Cathy, Patrick, Jayne, and Topaz for their great additions to Wordplay Thursday #5 (read it here)!  Great job!

  1. Hey there! Thank you so much for the shout-out 🙂 Don’t have much experience for this week’s prompt, being 14 years old, but will definitely keep an eye out for the next one and can’t wait to see what others come up with.

  2. Drunker than a barbed-wire tattoo
    Drunker than she is ugly
Drunker than a cat in a spin cycle
Drunker than a whiskey river catfish
Drunker than his daddy when he named him Sue

  3. I refer you to Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy:

“What’s so bad about being drunk?”
    “Ask a glass of water.”

Wish I’d got there first. On to today’s challenge –

    Drunker than…
    – a fish in vodka
    – a drama queen
    – the Principal on a Friday night.

  4. He’s drunker than his momma ever told him about.
He’s drunker than the legal limit.
He’s drunker than Otis in Mayberry.
He’s drunker than an overworked wine tasting judge.
