Wordplay Thursday #7

Here’s a writing prompt for you.  It’s a simple fill-in-the-blank.  You can use one word or several.  Feel free to get as crazy, genre-appropriate, or as imaginative as you want.  The point is to get the creative juices flowing.  And it’s a good thing to dig deeper, so don’t stop at the first idea that hits you.  Try coming up with at least five things.

“That’s as rare as _____________________.”

I’ll give you one example to get you started:

“That’s as rare as a cantaloupe cobbler.”

I’d love to hear what you come up with, so please share in the comments.  Oh, and please keep your posts below an R-rating.  It’s a family show, after all!

SHOUT OUT!

Thanks to Patrick Beck, Topaz, Michael August, Terry Smith, Andrew Clayton, Jackie Cook, Doug Folkins, and Mark for their great additions to Wordplay Thursday #6 (read it here)!  Great job!

  1. Rare as…

Rocking Horse Spit (I’m sure it was spit. Can’t think of another word it might have been.)
    An honest banker
    A poor banker
A Peter Shilton goal. (As a goalie, he had only one in his career. Google him.)
Unicorn Steak (rare, as in rare and as in rare as well.)
    Mermaid Pie

  2. That’s as rare as:
    a 2 legged centipede
a brand new 2 dollar bill
filet minon in the produce section
a swimming pool in the sahara desert
    a dog with human legs
    a human with dog legs
a shopping mall santa clause in August

    wordplay is hard! gaaaaaaaaagh,

  3. …a vegan butcher
    …a straight priest
    …natural boobs in Dallas
….as Love without a broken heart
