Wordplay Thursday #8

Here’s a writing prompt for you.  It’s a simple fill-in-the-blank.  You can use one word or several.  Feel free to get as crazy, genre-appropriate, or as imaginative as you want.  The point is to get the creative juices flowing.  And it’s a good thing to dig deeper, so don’t stop at the first idea that hits you.  Try coming up with at least five things.

“That boy’s stronger than  _____________________.”

I’ll give you one example to get you started:

“That boy’s stronger than a garlic milkshake.”

I’d love to hear what you come up with, so please share in the comments.  Oh, and please keep your posts below an R-rating.  It’s a family show, after all!

SHOUT OUT!

Thanks to Andrew Clayton, Nila Kay, Mark, Patrick Beck, Steve, and Jessica Stewart for their great additions to Wordplay Thursday #7 (read it here)!  Great job!

  1. I’ll focus this week’s prompt on words, I think. No one really realizes how potent and strong they can be, yes?
    That boy’s stronger than…

… the weight of the million unsaid words hanging in the air between the two of us.
… the cold iron knife of your words biting into my heart as you leave for the final time.
… the venomous words pooling in her mouth as she struggles to keep the smile plastered on her face.
… the steel clamp of her words paralyzing him – holding him to the ground as she disappears into the distance.

  2. That boy’s stronger than…

that scent dispersed from a freshly sprayed family of skunks.
the caped crusader on any given day.
I could ever imagine. At least he didn’t walk away from his one true love.

  3. That boy’s stronger than his father’s good advice
He’s stronger than the North wind in the trees.
That boy’s stronger than Jenny’s pleas to stay
That boy’s a stronger man than I could ever be.
