  1. [Heartache is…]
rough, but you can overcome it

buried in the past, I know it’s hard to believe

deep in the waters of the big blue ocean deep

not gonna be the last beat of (my, your) life

  2. Heartache is looking through a nursing home window
Heartache is accepting Jack Daniel’s offer
Heartache is an old car seat that still smells brand new
Heartache is drifting towards the walls on the slow songs
Heartache is wrapped in a flag with three sides

  3. Heartache….
a memory that makes it hard to breathe ….
    a twenty-one gun salute …
    you, walkin’ away…
dancin’ with my daughter on her wedding day …
wakin’ up with nobody on your side of the bed …

  4. Heartache is………….

tug-o-war between the breakdown and good to go, where strings of the heart are threadbare and unraveled deep down in soul.

  5. … is losing your true friend when you are advised by the vet to ” put him down” and you look into his trusting eyes for the last time.
… is watching your precious child cry due to classroom social rejection
… opening up the anticipated letter from you favored college.. only to find your rejection
… when on your knee looking for a ” yes” and she answers “no” .

  6. I THOUGHT HEARTACHE IS HEARING, “I NO LONGER LOVE YOU.”
TILL I HEARD MORE OF WHAT YOU HAD TO SAY,
“MY HEART HAS FALLEN FOR YOUR BEST FRIEND, STU,
AND WE’RE GOING AWAY… IN FACT WE’RE LEAVING TODAY!”

  7. Thank you Brent. Why is it so easy to write about heartache?!

Heartache is pain so deep, you feel like you’re in space
Heartache is loving someone, then no longer seeing their face
Heartache is a tomb with a short date span listed on the copper stone
Heartache is looking from the street at a space you once called home
