  1. ‘I’ll Have A Smothered At Stake’

-I don’t like what I’m tasting, washed down with the gulp of bitter beer.
-The weight of the world forces it through me. The pain’s unbearable, but in the crosshairs, still clear.
-It’s target a nervous stomach, with enough political acid to float a refugee boat.
-A sweaty brow drips quietly between my eyes. I squeeze a deathly grip on the brown bottle’s throat.
-I throw one back with precision, like a sniper’s steady finger pulls a trigger.
-Newsman on the world’s widescreen of uncertainty, makes others bellied-up simply shiver.
-How ’bout another round, something to take the top off the edge?
-How ’bout just walking out, to save myself and souls jumping from a burning ledge?
-CNN shows a foreign woman, worried skinny. She’s anyone’s mother.
-Maybe I’ll drag him out too, sittin’ next to me, my brother of color.
-A 20 down and a lowered tip of my hat. Bartender’s wink has me covered.
-I duck and head toward the door not lookin’ back, ’cause what I’m tasting’s making me feel smothered.

  2. “I don’t like tasting too much sour with the sweet.”
Your last kiss told me I said something wrong.

  3. I don’t like what I’m tasting.
I bit off more than I could chew.
Like a big ‘ole swaller of Redman,
Her love stew brings on the pukes.
She said she has a refined taste,
For magazine guys in itty bitty suits.
I’m gonna’ throw her a tasting party,
And serve it up while wearing my boots.
    …..(Alan says, “Yee-Haw.”) ??

  4. I don’t like the taste of this
It tastes like a whiskey kiss
It hits me hard and fast and strong
But in the morning, you’ll be gone

  5. I don’t like what I’m tasting
The bitter pill you gave to me
I was fine on my own, before you had shone
How life without cha’s gonna be

    It was sweet in December
Fought ever chill with your touch
The curl in your lips, us laughing like kids
I realize now I’ve lost so much

    Before we say goodbye, forever
    Before these memories, get cold
Give me one last thing , to remember
One Last Kiss before you go
