Welcome to Wordplay Thursday!
Here’s a writing prompt for you. It’s a simple fill-in-the-blank. You can use one word or several. Feel free to get as crazy, genre-appropriate, or as imaginative as you want. The point is to get the creative juices flowing. And it’s a good thing to dig deeper, so don’t stop at the first idea that hits you. Try coming up with at least five things.
“She’s as innocent as _____.”
I’ll give you an example to get you started:
“She’s as innocent as an axe murderer.”
I’d love to hear what you come up with, so please share in the comments. Oh, and please keep your posts below an R-rating. It’s a family show, after all!
God Bless,
Brent

as…
a grinning newborn
a hand in a cookie jar
a sleeping child
a smirking villain
a Al Capone.
1. a new bride on a spring wedding day all dressed in white. 2. a cat caught in a bird cage. 3. as her newborn baby’s eyes. 4. a thief in the night but she looks good in stripes.
as the Devil with a blue dress on…( Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels )
as the day is long…nobody said anything about the night…
as a politician accepting gratuities…from questionable sources…
as an on line scammer…saying you won a year’s supply of free gas…
as a young puppie that is still learning to walk….
as Eve was once…in the Garden of Eden…
typo… as Eve ” once ” was…in the Garden of Eden…
Funny you should mention online scammers, Kim. About an hour ago, I got a call from some guy claiming that my phone number had been randomly selected by the government to receive a $9,000 grant- just for being a good citizen!
I played along for a while just to see where he was going with it. Finally, I got tired of trying to decipher his thick foreign accent, so I told him to get some honest work, quit scamming people and I hung up.
Ugh.
They never stop trying Brent…almost everyday…I get emails from people telling me…they’re under some form of duress…due to the fact…their government is persecuting them…& in the process of appropriating all their money…& if I could help them out… by giving them my all my bank account information…they would deposit millions into my account & give me 50%…yeah right…I actually wrote a song about people like this…anyway since this is family show…I can’t repeat what my replies were to these crooks…good on you Brent! Hopefully he’ll quit scamming people & get some honest work…on the other hand…sad to say…I don’t think he will…it’s a numbers game with these creeps…
